Update: Police believe Missing Candler County Mother and Daughter are in Puerto Rico
UPDATE: Police believe that the missing mom and daughter may be in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Anyone with contact with them are asked to contact Lyons PD at 912-526-3638. A Candler County mother and her 7 year old daughter, with Statesboro connections, have been missing since Friday, March 29th. They were last seen in Lyons, Georgia. Authorities are asking for anyone with information on them to please report it to Lyons PD or your local police department. Click on the picture to read more.

Let's Talk Turkey: 2024 Georgia Turkey Hunting Season opens Saturday on public lands
Turkey season on public lands opens this Saturday, April 6. All regions of the state had decreased reproduction from 2021 to 2022, but the Coastal Plain regions in the southern half of the state had the biggest dip, due to the high production in 2021. The daily and season bag limits are one gobbler may be taken per hunter per day, and a season total of two gobblers. On WMAs and National Forest land (outside of WMAs), the bag limit is one gobbler per area.
