Perry and Vendora Cobb were natives of Metter and Portal, respectively, and had lived on the family farm in Candler County since they married in 1959. They are remembered by friends and family as a sweet couple who loved poodles and dining out together. Their visitation will be held on Wednesday at Joiner-Anderson, with funeral services following on Thursday.

Atlanta has been selected to host eight World Cup matches in the summer of 2026. Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta will be the site for five group stage matches, a round of 32 contest, a round of 16 match and a semifinal, the international soccer organization FIFA announced Sunday.
