Each Tuesday from noon to 4pm, the Statesboro Jaycees Career Clothes Closet at the Statesboro Family YMCA will open its doors for anyone in need of free business professional or business casual clothing. 

The Zetas of Georgia Southern University will host their 22nd annual strawberry sale on March 1. The deadline to pre-order your flats of berries is Sunday, February 25th.

You can find the Free Market in The Boro on the second Saturday of each month in Statesboro. It's a local swap meet, where community members offer their gently used, unwanted items for others to pick from, for absolutely no cost! Charly Kinship's goal with the market is to reduce landfill waste and give new life to old items.

Local sewing ministry Sewing for Missions will host a fashion show at Pittman Park this month to share their latest creations. The group uses donated fabrics to create clothing for children, women in crisis, and the elderly in Statesboro and around the world.

The Georgia Southern Planetarium will offer its popular "Perfect Little Planet" show on Friday, February 23. It's fun for all ages, and tickets are on sale now!

Georgia Southern's Planetarium and Astronomy Lab Coordinator Dillon Marcy has had a love for astronomy from an early age and even visited the planetarium, where he now works, as a child. Today, he is teaching another generation about the wonders of astronomy and presenting shows that all members of the community can enjoy. 

City of Statesboro Mayor Jonathan McCollar will host the 2024 State of the City address on Tuesday, February 27, in the Emma Kelly Theater in Downtown Statesboro. In addition to the official address, the program will feature a presentation of the flags by the Statesboro High School JROTC Color Guard, musical performances and a Q&A session with the Mayor. The public is invited to attend.

Perry and Vendora Cobb were natives of Metter and Portal, respectively, and had lived on the family farm in Candler County since they married in 1959. They are remembered by friends and family as a sweet couple who loved poodles and dining out together. Their visitation will be held on Wednesday at Joiner-Anderson, with funeral services following on Thursday.

Statesboro Village Builders will host its second “Family Fun Resource Day” of 2024 on Saturday, February 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Statesboro Convention & Visitors Bureau (222 S Main Street, Statesboro). Members of the community are invited to attend a day of entertainment filled with music, interactive games, and onsite resources. Kids can enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, and a bounce house. There will also be free food, books and door prizes.
