Bulloch County citizens are waking up to road closures and power outages. As of 5 AM there are over 20 roads closed, some major roads and over 1,600 customers without power. Public Safety officials are urging citizens to shelter in place this morning wile the storm passes and only travel if necessary.

Winds and rain from Tropical Storm Debby caused a tree to fall onto a vehicle Monday evening, trapping the driver inside. Emergency responders worked tirelessly to free the driver amid downed power lines and hazardous conditions. Roads are dangerous. Officials are asking citizens to shelter in place and only travel if absolutely necessary until the storm passes.

Trees and water over roadways are creating hazardous conditions in Bulloch County. Bulloch is under a Flash Flood Warning. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to continue. Bulloch County is now under a Tropical Storm Wind Warning. A Flood Warning has been issued for the Ogeechee River at Eden with expectations that the river could exceed 7 feet over flood stages which is 11 feet. Bulloch County Schools has announced that all schools are closed for students and staff on Monday, August 5, and Tuesday, August 6, 2024. All athletics and after school activities are also canceled.
