Citizens are being asked to report damages to their homes so that local inspectors can provide the data to agencies like FEMA for funding assistance.

At the August 12th Board of Commissioners meeting, several public safety officials and the commissioners came together to discuss the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Debby. After a citizens voiced his concerns of a proposed 714-acre development commissioners voted to challenge the annexation.

Grice Connect visited the emergency responders stationed at Ogeechee Technical College since August 5, 2024, who have worked tirelessly to aid the management of resources and rescues during Tropical Storm Debby. As of Wednesday night, no resource requests have been received by the center, and the response teams hailing from across the state are now getting ready to head home.

Governor Brian Kemp and state emergency officials gathered in Savannah today to provide an update on the ongoing response to the damage caused by Debby, as the State of Emergency has been extended to ensure continued support for the affected areas.

A decision on which day schools will reopen will be made by Sunday afternoon. Families are asked to remain alert for updates.

In response to the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Debby, Crisis Cleanup has established a call center to streamline recovery efforts. This call center aims to efficiently coordinate volunteer assistance for muck out operations, tree removal and debris cleanup for affected residents.

Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Volunteers are set to arrive in Bulloch and Evans Counties on Monday, August 12th, to assist homeowners affected by recent flooding. The volunteers will provide their services at no cost, helping residents remove damaged items and sanitize their homes.

First come, first serve Flood Buckets filled with cleaning supplies will be distributed at Pittman Park Church in Statesboro, GA on Friday, August 9th from 10 AM to 4 PM or until all are distributed.

In the wake of Hurricane Debby, Brooklet First Baptist Church has rallied to support the community's first responders. Led by Pastor Patrick McElveen, the church has been providing hot meals and essential supplies to those working tirelessly to restore order and safety in Bulloch County.
