The season will start off with three exhibition matches, with the Eagles opening the preseason slate on the road against the Winthrop Eagles on Saturday, August 12, at Rock Hill, S.C. The final two exhibition matches will be at Eagle Field, first against the Stetson Hatters on Wednesday, Aug. 16, before the Eagles take on Clayton State on Saturday, Aug. 19 to end the preseason. 

Georgia Southern women's golfer Haley Yerxa and former men's golfer Wilson Andress have earned spots on the Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-America At-Large teams, announced this week by the organization.

The challenge — a scheduling alliance between the two leagues — will kick off during the opening week of the 2023-24 season. Men's team will play at EMU on Nov. 11; Women's team will host EMU on same date

Georgia Southern University President Dr. Kyle Marrero was named Vice President of the Sun Belt Conference, placing him in rotation to be President of the conference.

Phil Steele Magazine has released its 2023 All-Sun Belt Team, headlined by Khalil Crowder and Khaleb Hood earning first-team honors. In total, eight GS players were named to publication's postseason honors list.

With the opening, commercial shrimp trawlers can operate in the state’s territorial waters from shore to three nautical miles out to sea, where waters become federally managed. Recreational harvesters must obtain a Georgia fishing license and free Saltwater Information Program permit.

Kness transferred to Georgia Southern from Seton Hall, where she compiled a 75.52 career scoring average with two victories, five top-5 finishes, nine top-10s and 15 career top-20s. Her career scoring average still ranks second in Seton Hall program history. Kness spent the 2022-23 academic year serving as the Director of Championships for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
