The Georgia Literacy Academy is a series of online courses in structured literacy and the science of reading available at no cost to all Georgia educators. In just four months of operation, the Academy has reached an enrollment of 11,723 Georgia educators.

More than 200 students from eight of Bulloch County Schools' nine elementary schools plus the community's largest private school, Bulloch Academy, participated in individual computation and team ciphering at the 13th Annual Reggie Dawson Memorial Math Tournament on Saturday, March 23.

This week, Ogeechee Tech held its annual iGot community giving campaign. The college will celebrate the support it received this year at the "We Are OTC" event this coming Thursday.

The kit, which is valued at around $9,500, includes an automotive milli meter, mega meter, multi meter, and an insulated tool set designed for working with electric vehicles.

Ogeechee Tech recently hosted a Business and Industry Showcase for local high school students. Many of the businesses and industries that attended have employment opportunities that can be tied directly to program offerings at Ogeechee Technical College.

Ogeechee Tech is one of four technical colleges in the greater Savannah area that will receive a donation of tool kits from Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America to assist in the development of future electric vehicle professionals.

Student musicians from Langston Chapel, William James, Southeast Bulloch and Portal middle schools will showcase their collective talents during a free, public concert on Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m., in the Langston Chapel Middle School Gymnasium. The event is also a last formal rehearsal prior to the group competing in the Southern Star Music Festival in Atlanta on March 15. This new collaboration fosters talent and festival participation.
