Donny Collins named OTC Instructor of the Year
Computer Information Systems instructor Donny Collins received the 2024 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction at OTC's Spring Faculty & Staff Meeting and Awards Ceremony. He will move on to the regional competition in Tifton next month. Barry Dotson, Tom Elrod, Rachel Rigdon, and Christina Harrell were also honored at the ceremony.

GS's Howard Keeley receives Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad
Thirteen awards were announced worldwide, only two of which went to individuals based in the U.S. Keeley received the award in the business and economic development category. Achievements cited included his development of Georgia Southern’s presence in Ireland and his facilitation of trade and investment opportunities between Georgia and Ireland. It is the highest honor the country of Ireland can give to a person who is a non-resident.

GEORGIA MATCH director college admissions program seeing positive results
More than 132,000 seniors received personalized letters from Gov. Brian Kemp last October listing the public universities, colleges and technical colleges they are academically eligible to attend. Nearly 12,000 high school seniors had requested information about the GEORGIA MATCH program through Jan. 7 or taken it a step further by claiming a spot at one of the system's 23 colleges and universities participating in the initiative.
