Georgia Southern University professors Sally Brown, Ph.D., and Alisa Leckie, Ph.D., have received a $50,000 grant to launch the PAGES+ Literacy Initiative, a community-based program designed to enhance early childhood literacy through interactive reading groups in Savannah and Chatham County.

Erin Shen of Statesboro High School and her AP Environmental Science teacher, Richard McCombs, have been named Bulloch County’s 2025 STAR Student and STAR Teacher.
