Tod Marsh, Food Lion Statesboro Manager was all smiles Tuesday morning as he cut the ribbon on his newly remodeled store. Food Lion, located at 325 Northside Drive East in Statesboro and 155 S. Leroy Street in Metter, both cut ribbons on their extensively remodeled stores Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
"I want to invite everyone to come check out our "NEW" Food Lion. You will be very pleased with what you discover", said Tod Marsh. "Thank you Food Lion for making this incredible investment into our store and our community. A special thanks to all of our Food Lion Statesboro employees for their commitment. We have the best employees of any Food Lion store and they are what makes working here so special. Every inch of improvement we have made was made with our customers in mind. We know you are counting on us to offer an easy and affordable grocery experience where it is easy to save and easy to figure out what to put on the table."
The first 100 customers in line at both stores received a mystery gift card valued up to $250. Through Saturday, June 24, each store will distribute a free giveaway to the first customers each day.
Tom Perry, Food Lion Director of Operations for the Savannah Region was on hand celebrating the ribbon cutting. He commended the Statesboro team for their service to Food Lion customers and the community as a whole. "This is what we do and how we serve. Our team shows up every day ready to serve this community."
The remodeled stores feature an all-new look, extensive product assortment, a wide variety of affordable and easy “grab-and-go” meal options and a great selection of locally sourced items produced or grown in communities around the store.
Customers also have a large selection of affordable organic, gluten-free and plant-based items to choose from, including Nature’s Promise-brand items, which are Food Lion’s brand of wholesome and organic products made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors.
Marsh is excited about an upcoming visit from their specially marked Food Lion RV. Marsh expects the RV to make an appearance at the Downtown Live Concert on Thursday, June 29th and another appearance at Mill Creek Park for the July 4th weekend celebration. The Food Lion team will be handing out giveaways such as Food Lion gift cards, merchandise, food and other items on the RV.
Don Poe and members of the Feed the Boro team were also at attendance for the Statesboro ribbon cutting. Food Lion is a major sponsor of Feed the Boro and together through Food Lion Feeds, they have distributed over 1.5 million meals to Bulloch County families.
