Daily Update COVID-19 4/29/2020 This report is compiled daily by Bulloch County Public Safety Director Ted Wynn. Bulloch County Confirmed Cases (35 and 2 deaths reported here with 8 hospitalizations.) That is an increase of 1 confirmed.

Governor Brian Kemp will hold a press conference today at 4 p.m. with Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, Speaker David Ralston. The assumption is that he will outline plans to ease social distancing restrictions and restart Georgia’s economy.

In a list of COVID-19 positive cases released by the Governor’s office this week, Heritage Inn Health And Rehabilitation in Statesboro is listed as having one positive case.

“On and Open” is an exciting example of businesses coming together to find innovative ways to help other small businesses create much needed cash flow.

The past few weeks have been very stressful for our local heroes serving on the front line of the COVID-19 crisis around the county and in our community. Many of them have to work on Easter to ensure the security and safety of our community.

Governor Brian Kemp ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half-staff on Friday in honor of our friend and irreplaceable State Senator Jack Hill. Senator Hill died unexpectedly in his office in Reidsville, Georgia on Monday.

Today Governor Brian P. Kemp, Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, and House Speaker David Ralston announced plans to extend Georgia’s public health state of emergency through May 13, 2020 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Georgia Governor Brain Kemp has issued a statewide order for two weeks beginning at 6PM on Friday, April 3 and ending at 11:59 on Monday, April 13th. This order basically expands the current City of Statesboro Shelter in Place order statewide.
