The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that ICE agents were in the Statesboro area Friday morning and left by around 9 a.m., after taking a small number of individuals into custody and transporting them to Savannah for processing. No further details were available.

The University System of Georgia, along with leadership from both Georgia Southern University and East Georgia State College, has approved a new name for the Swainsboro campus: Georgia Southern University – East Georgia Campus.
