Bulloch County Commissioners unanimously approved the property tax increase with no changes in a special session on Tuesday, August 22 at 8:30 AM in the Commission meeting room at the North Main Annex.

This is an update of citizens who have qualified to run at the end of the first day of qualifying. Candidates who wish to qualify for a municipal office must file their notice of candidacy with the Election Superintendent in each respective city at their City Hall this week. Qualifying will run from Monday, August 21st at 8:30 a.m. through Friday, August 25th at 4:30 p.m.

Lindsey Breaux, a GS communications sciences and disorders student, spent two weeks working with the local community in Belize. For many communities in the country, speech therapy services offered by study abroad programs are the only viable option.

Teachers who apply must use Georgia’s native animals, plants and habitats as the context for covering Georgia Standards of Excellence. Although the grant emphasizes life science, cross-curricular teaching is highly encouraged. Preference will be given to teachers who demonstrate creativity in project design and take learning outside, as well as for projects that could not be funded otherwise. The grant is open to K-5 teachers.
