This year marks the sixteenth year of the Ogeechee Area Hospice Community Chicken Dinner fundraiser. Plates are just $10 and benefit this community supported, non-profit hospice.

Over 100 citizens walked through areas of the city most impacted by gun violence on Sunday afternoon to send a message to people who are doing illegal things in our community and promoting gun violence. They are fed up and ready to step up to do whatever it takes to stop this and bring justice to the once causing it.

The City of Statesboro, Town of Register, and City of Brooklet will elect municipal positions on November 7. Incumbents in the Town of Portal drew no opposition. Here is a list of this weeks GDOT lane closures. The lane closures are necessary for widening activities for I-16 and bridge work at the I-16/I-516 Interchange.
