SPD provides Cambridge - The Pines homicide investigation update
Detectives, working with the GBI’s Coastal Crime Lab, positively identified the decedent as Anthony Jermail Johnson (19) of Statesboro. Johnson was familiar to detectives, as at the time of his death he had active warrants for Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault. That case began on 11/30/23 when Antawan Strickland was shot to death at a residence on Success Court in Statesboro.

City of Statesboro making changes to utility billing schedule
City of Statesboro utility customers will soon see a change in their utility bills starting in April. Currently, when a customer receives their utility bill, the total amount due is for services rendered almost two months ago. During the February 20 City Council work session, City of Statesboro Finance Director Cindy West shared a proposed modified billing schedule to help customers reach a point where their bills will reflect services rendered for the previous month.

Pre-K students at Bulloch Academy recently got to harvest vegetables from their garden, a joint effort by Mrs. Julie Anna Boyd's eighth-grade Exploring Agriculture class. With a garden-themed storytime and their own fresh veggies for snack, it was a hands-on learning experience filled with fun—and one that might foster a love of gardening in future generations.
