The proposed standards and conditions will be consistent with those previously required in a general permit for private docks located over state-owned tidal water bottoms as issued to the State of Georgia by the United States Army Corps of Engineers pursuant to the Rivers and Harbors Act. A public hearing will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, in Brunswick.

Georgia Ports updates Northeast Georgia leaders on Blue Ridge Connector project plans

By linking to the Port of Savannah via rail, the Blue Ridge Connector will reduce congestion on Georgia highways, eliminating the 600-mile roundtrip drive to and from the coast. This means offsetting emissions by as much as 75%, lowering transportation costs for importers and exporters, and providing closer drayage for truck drivers who can transport containers in their own markets, closer to home.

Local ham radio enthusiasts welcome the public to Winter Field Day this Saturday and Sunday

This Saturday and Sunday, join members of the Statesboro Amateur Radio Society (STARS) and the Southeast Amateur Radio Association (SARA) along with thousands of other local amateur radio operators around the world for Winter Field Day, an exercise of skill and fun. The general public is invited to come out to the Horseman’s Arena and join the fun! Information on Amateur Radio and how to become a ham will be available at the event, and hams are eager to share their love of this hobby.
