City of Statesboro Mayor Jonathan McCollar has been appointed chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 University Communities Council. McCollar was elected to a one-year term to develop and guide programs among local elected officials from similar communities.

Both GA and PA groundhogs predict an early spring!
This morning, groundhogs General Beauregard "Beau" Lee at Dauset Trails Nature Center in Jackson, Georgia, and Punxsutawney Phil at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, both failed to see their shadow, predicting an EARLY SPRING!
