The purpose of the state grants is to help districts expand options and opportunities for their students in advanced learning; digital media and literacy; health and physical education; world languages; and mathematics, science, and social studies instruction. Bulloch County received grants in mathematics and social studies.

Two Georgia Southern professors, Dr. Kathleen Crawford and Courtney Toledo, have started a new local group to inspire and guide new teachers through the first few years of teaching. Grice Connect's Reagan Reilly, a former student of theirs, takes a deeper look into their group.

Mill Creek Elementary has earned a Flag Certificate from Bulloch County's Sons of the American Revolution

Camp RAD (Recreation for Adolescents with Disabilities) is a summer camp centered around activities that promote independence for children, teens, and adults ages 10-23. Dr. Gavin Colquitt, Executive Director of the Center for Rehabilitation and Independent Living at Georgia Southern University, gives us an in-depth look at this life-changing experience for young people.

Michael Huggins, Ph.D., will join Georgia Southern University as the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics.

Grice Connect's Kori Cope has worked to put together the Presidents List of students from Bulloch County who attend colleges outside of Statesboro. Congratulations to these students for earning a 4.0!

Georgia Southern announced their President's List students for the Spring 2023 semester. President's List students have a 4.0 GPA with minimum 12 hours of study.

The events will take place on Saturday, June 24, at Luetta Moore Park and are for youth ages 12-18. The deadline to register is Tuesday, June 20.

Local Gullah Geechee artists and the McIntosh County Ringshouters will showcase their talent at the event in Savannah on June 19.
