Officials from Bulloch County, the City of Statesboro, and the Bulloch County Board of Education will come together on Wednesday, July 9 at 5:00 PM for a joint meeting to review findings from the Coastal Regional Housing Study, a multi-jurisdictional effort focused on understanding housing trends and future needs across coastal Georgia counties.

The meeting will take place at the Jack Hill Building’s Oak Room at Ogeechee Technical College, located at 20 Joe Kennedy Boulevard in Statesboro. The public is invited to attend. The Bulloch County Board of Commissioners plan to livestream the meeting, but if technical difficulties arise, the meeting will still be recorded.

The session will feature opening remarks from representatives of each local government, followed by a presentation of the study’s objectives, key findings, and recommendations. Presenters include Betsy McGriff, Associate Project Manager with the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute, and Dr. Lynn Patterson, Principal at Three Points Planning.

The Coastal Regional Housing Study was conducted in partnership with several coastal counties, including Bulloch, Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham—as well as the City of Savannah, to assess regional housing challenges and opportunities. The presentation will offer data-driven insights intended to inform local policy discussions around growth, infrastructure, and affordability.

Bulloch County Planning and Zoning Director James Pope previously told commissioners the July 9 presentation is an opportunity for community partners, including city, county, and school system leaders, to align around the housing-related impacts of rapid regional development.

Following the presentation, attendees can expect closing remarks and a discussion of next steps. While no formal votes are expected during the meeting, the discussion may help shape future planning efforts at both the city and county levels.
