United Way of Southeast Georgia is hosted its 3rd annual Community Spring Raffle. This raffle is generously sponsored by Brandi and Dr. Delan Gaines of Optim Orthopedics and benefits United Way of Southeast Georgia.
Members of the United Way Board along with members of agencies supported by United Way met in the CORE Credit Union boardroom to draw the winner on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Before the winner was drawn, Carey Cassedy, United Way's Executive Director recognized Philip Tremble for his commitment and service in leading the organization. He has served as President several times and is always willing to step up to support to organization.
Linda James, Center of Hope Director with The Salvation Army's name was drawn as the winner. Linda was in attendance and had the option of accepting an new Louis Vuitton Graceful PM purse or $1,500 cash. She selected the cash prize which she immediately donated back to the organization.
With her generous donation back, the event raffle rased over $8,000 for the organization, which is a record.

Here are just a few examples of how United Way used your generous donations this year.
- $10 Donation: 1 Ticket - provides a newly adopted child with a book that helps them understand their forever home
- $20 Donation: 2 Tickets - provides four blood tests to monitor health disorders
- $30 Donation: 3 Tickets - provides 12 books mailed to a child's home for a year
- $40 Donation: 4 Tickets - provides a hot meal delivered to four senior citizens
- $50 Donation: 5 Tickets - provides one year of sanitation supplies for seven children in an after school program
- $60 Donation: 6 Tickets - provides six individuals with a week supply of food
- $100 Donation: 10 Tickets - provides five children with access to internet-based enrichment programs in an after school program
