In 2023, the bi-annual duck race raised $10,000, which is the equivalent of recruiting, training, and supporting 10 CASA Volunteers who advocate for children experiencing foster care due to abuse or neglect.
This event benefits over 50 children in foster care that are currently served by Ogeechee Visitation Centers and CASA Ogeechee and helps them train 10 additional community volunteers to get them closer to their service goal of 100%.
Please visit www.cas-sega.org/duck to purchase a duck while they last! Only 1,000 ducks will be sold, and ducks are just $10 each.
Child Advocacy Services SEGA, Inc. is the sponsoring agency for CASA Ogeechee, Positive Childhood Alliance Ogeechee, and the Ogeechee Visitation Centers. CASA Ogeechee has served Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins, and Screven Counties since 2002. CASA speaks up for children who have been abused or neglected by empowering community volunteers who advocate for the children in the court system.
When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a Juvenile Judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations to serve the child’s best interests.
