Willow Pond Senior Living in Statesboro, Georgia, marked its 30th anniversary on July 18, 2025, celebrating three decades of service to the community's seniors.

From its serene setting to its active engaged lifestyle, Willow Pond continues to be more than a place to live, it’s a place to thrive. The beautifully decorated community has long balanced serenity and an engaging environment for all who call it ‘home’.

“We all believe this celebration is as important as celebrating individual residents here. Without Willow Pond, none of us would be in each other's lives, and it is a special thing to have a family outside of our own,” shared Sara Chandler, Lifestyle Director.

The oldest and longest-standing resident, ‘WillieColeman, who joined Willow Pond in 2013, shared, “I enjoy the family feeling that Willow Pond provides for me and my family.” Newest resident Ms. Doris Hill, who arrived in February 2025, remarked, “I enjoy visiting with my tablemates at mealtimes. Most of my Statesboro friends are also here at Willow Pond. It feels like being part of a big group again.”

After lunch on the anniversary date, birthday cake was shared, and the celebration continued with a community favorite: Boro Sno, featuring 14 regular flavors, three sugar-free options, and two topping choices served from their iconic Sno Mobile.

“Coming to Willow Pond in 2013 is the most fulfilling job of my life,” Chandler added. “I get to hang out, learn, and experience new friendships daily with residents. Our staff works hard to ensure every resident feels they’ve moved into a new home: not a healthcare facility. Willow Pond’s decor reflects that, with furniture and amenities that feel like a ‘Grand Hotel’ stay.”

Over the past 30 years, Willow Pond has remained a consistent and cherished part of the Statesboro community. While the building looks much the same, with the addition of The Cottages and Memory Care, its mission continues to evolve with thoughtful improvements for both residents and staff.

Willow Pond celebrated its 30th birthday in true Willow Pond fashion: relaxed and centered around community. Happy Birthday Willow Pond! Here’s to many amazing years to come!
