Georgia Southern Athletics has announced the promotions for the 2024 football season. The highly touted home schedule will feature 10 promotions over the course of six Saturdays in Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
The season opener against Boise State marks Kickoff at Paulson to generate the excitement of football back in Statesboro! The Broncos will be making the trip east after finishing the 2023 season with an 8-6 record, which included winning the Mountain West Conference title.
Game two at Paulson will celebrate Teacher Appreciation and Fall Family Weekend. Georgia Southern will be one of the first to honor teachers in our community as college football squads from across the nation will do the same during games from Sept. 14-21 as part of Extra Yard for Teachers Week. Campus will be ready to receive families of our students during the event-packed weekend.
Fans will have to wait nearly a month to Pack Paulson once more for the first Sun Belt matchup in the 'Boro against the Marshall Thundering Herd. The Tackling for a Cure promotion will be held once again in support of Breast Cancer Research and Education. In addition, a number of Eagle legends will be inducted into the Georgia Southern Hall of Fame 2024 class, which will be announced this summer.
Homecoming is set for the following week against James Madison. We can't wait for our alumni to return to campus for the weekend and see who the students will crown as their 2024 Homecoming King and Queen.
Game 5 is against Troy. Five days after Veterans Day, this will mark Salute to Service game in honor of our men and women in the United States Armed Forces, plus, Celebrate Agriculture Day to thank our local and state farmers for their contributions to our communities.
Wrapping up the regular season is the time to honor our football student-athletes who will be graduating and starting their next chapter. And there's no better time to wear blue for the Blue Out against our rival, App State.
