Ogeechee Riverkeeper announces upcoming events for Fall

The Ogeechee Riverkeeper (ORK) is gearing up for a busy fall season, hosting and participating in a variety of events aimed at protecting and celebrating the Ogeechee River basin. From local cleanups to day trip festivals, there's something for everyone to get involved.

Don’t Litter Lotts Cleanups

Jump into the creek with KSBB and ORK by participating in our monthly creek cleanup near the Honey Bowen Building, Statesboro.

  • August 27, 9 a.m.

  • Sept 13, 9 a.m., with Rivers Alive

  • October 29, 9 a.m.

  • November 26, 9 a.m.

Upper Watershed Members Only Paddle Trip

  • September 13, 9 a.m., Hamburg State Park

    ORK will host a members-only paddle trip at Hamburg State Park in the upper watershed of the Ogeechee River Basin. This paddle trip is free to members but attendees should bring their own vessels, snacks, and water. A limited number of loaner kayaks can be available with advance notice. Pre-registration is required.

Fall Festival

  • October 25, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Louisville Crossing Park

    Join ORK for an upper watershed community day at Ogeechee Crossing Park in Louisville. This fall gathering is open to all. Education booths, merchandise, yard games, kids arts and crafts, face painting, and so much more will be on hand! Sign up for a guided nature walk or stay for lunch and enjoy a burger. No RSVP needed.

About Ogeechee Riverkeeper

Ogeechee Riverkeeper 501(c)(3) works to protect, preserve, and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River basin, which includes all of the streams flowing out to Ossabaw Sound and St. Catherine’s Sound. The Canoochee River is about 108 miles long and the Ogeechee River itself is approximately 245 miles long.
