The Eagles shot a phenomenal 497/500 in the rain and mud. Two other teams with National Champion credentials, Hillsdale College and Fort Hays State, also posted scores of 497/500. Clemson shot 496/500 and just missed the shootoff as did Texas A&M who posted 494/500. The three teams were to shoot true doubles at stations 3, 4, and 5, but all five Eagle shooters hit both birds on station 3 while the other teams missed a single target to give Georgia Southern the claim to a National Champion title.

* 1st place High Overall Skeet winner: Tate Skipper

Since the NCAA decided to sanction rifle and not shotgun 50+ years ago, ACUI took the shotgun sports and has held the Collegiate Clay Target Championship for more than five decades. This event is equivalent to a NCAA National Championship event.
