The Flight Crew's most recent event was a 2v2 Indoor Soccer Tournament at the Georgia Southern RAC. A total of 15 teams with 30 participants battled to be crowned tournament champion. Some teams were made up of students who knew their partners ahead of time and others consisted of two individuals who wanted to be challenged and paired with someone random. Some teams even wore matching colors or shirts to further display their team spirit, such as Drew Harpe and Andrew Hellgren.
Each team played four group-stage games, and then the top teams from each group (along with a wild card) moved on to the final four-team bracket round where "Team Blue" came out on top.
The event took a little over two hours, and there was no cost to participate for Flight Crew members. After the games concluded, every participant who stuck around for the awards ceremony received a prize courtesy of the club's awesome sponsors such as Smoothie King, Candler County Hospital, and Bulloch Solutions.
Georgia Southern students who wish to join Flight Crew just have to pay their $5 membership fee at www.tinyurl.com/joinflightcrew.
In return for joining the organization, students receive a free member shirt, access to Flight Crew events, access to Flight Crew intramural teams (plus a jersey if they wish to participate), and, of course, a close group of friends.
