Saylor’s Light, a non profit supporting families grieving infant loss or miscarriage, is proud to announce the success of its inaugural Shine Bright Bingo Night, hosted by the beloved GLAM-MAs and sponsored by The Warehouse.
This night brought the community together for an evening of fun, prizes, and purpose. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, sponsors, and volunteers, the event raised $13,200. Beyond the fundraising success, the event also raised important awareness about the mission of Saylor’s Light, helping the organization continue reaching more families in need.
This funding will provide over 350 memory boxes to hospitals and doctors’ offices at no cost to them, offering comfort and keepsakes to families navigating the heartbreaking experience of infant loss or miscarriage.
“Our goal is to ensure we can reach as many families as possible who are experiencing infant loss, so they too can make memories with their baby. We don’t want any family going home empty handed,” said Sonia Dismukes, founder of Saylor’s Light. “The overwhelming response to Shine Bright Bingo Night shows how much our community cares, how this mission impacts so many of us, and together we are making a difference.”
So far in 2025, Saylor’s Light has donated 425 memory boxes across 8 states, expanding its reach and impact to grieving families nationwide.
About Saylor’s Light
In 2017, five months before Statesboro local Sonia Dismukes gave birth to her third child, Saylor, she and her husband Matthew learned their baby had been diagnosed with anencephaly, a condition that meant Saylor would not live long, if at all, after birth. To prepare for their loss, they created keepsakes — handprints, mementos, and other items — to hold onto her memory.
Out of that experience came the vision for Saylor’s Light, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other families facing the unimaginable loss of an infant. Through partnerships with hospitals and doctors’ offices, Saylor’s Light provides memory boxes filled with items that help families make meaningful memories with their babies, no matter how short their time together may be.
Saylor’s Light extends heartfelt gratitude to the GLAM-MAs for bringing energy and joy to the event, to local sponsors for their generous support, and to every participant who contributed to the evening’s success.
Saylor’s Light has the goal of reaching more families across the U.S., they would love to donate 1,000 boxes this next year. For more information about Saylor’s Light and how to support its mission, visit www.saylorslight.com.
