The 2nd Annual Register Pecan Festival will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Downtown Register, Georgia. The family friendly event is hosted by Register Baptist Church and the Town of Register and will grow this year to feature even more shopping, vendors, kids' activities, food trucks, and musical performances.

Historic Savannah Foundation to Continue 2024 Lecture Series with Kiah House Presentation by Dr. Deborah Johnson-Simon

In honor of Black History Month, Historic Savannah Foundation will host a special presentation by scholar, museum expert and anthropologist Dr. Deborah Johnson-Simon, discussing “The Legacy of Virginia Kiah and the Kiah House Museum” as part of the 2024 Historic Savannah Foundation Lecture Series. Johnson-Simon will speak on Thursday, Feb. 15 at Historic Savannah Foundation’s headquarters. Attendees are invited to attend a wine reception at 5:30pm. The discussion will start at 6pm.

The City of Statesboro and the Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia will host the final of three stakeholder meetings for the Statesboro Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, February 13. The meeting will take place in the Statesboro First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, and members of the public are invited to attend and share their ideas and vision for Statesboro’s future.

A free Little Eagles Baseball Clinic, presented by Optim Orthopedics and Chick-Fil-A Statesboro, will be held this Saturday, February 3, following an open practice of the Georgia Southern baseball team.
