Two arrested in Statesboro drug bust, canine rescued

A drug trafficking operation in Statesboro has been disrupted following a raid by the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office. Authorities seized a large quantity of drugs, including fentanyl and cocaine, and arrested two suspects.

Acting on an anonymous tip, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team (CST) began an investigation into a residence located on Johnson Street in the city limits of Statesboro. The residence was reported to investigators as being used for trafficking narcotics. During the course of the investigation, a search warrant for the residence was obtained.

On Thursday, July 10, 2025 CST Investigators, K9 Deputies, and BCSO Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) executed the search warrant. The search yielded a trafficking amount of compressed tablets containing fentanyl and bath salts, a trafficking amount of cocaine, a large quantity of marijuana, and a drug related object.

Investigators also located a canine on the premises that was in extremely poor health. Investigators requested Bulloch County Animal Control to the scene, who took possession of the canine.

Dryan Markel Bartley of Statesboro, GA and Marqueles Damon Dennis of Statesboro, GA were taken into custody and transported to the Bulloch County Jail for the following offenses:
