Bulloch History: What does Bamboo, Henry Ford and Savannah Avenue have in Common?
Thanks to McCook's Pharmacy for making the replay of the Bulloch Tid Bit's available on Grice Connect. I will battle invasive bamboo on my property at 315 Savannah Avenue until I die. It was planted by Dr. RJH DeLoach and Henry Ford. This was during WWI and they were experimenting with a rubber replacement. The Vagabonds, including, Ford, Thomas Edison and John Burroughs, visited Statesboro and Savannah Avenue. This is fabulous, forgotten history of our town.

GS Men's Soccer announces 2023 schedule
The season will start off with three exhibition matches, with the Eagles opening the preseason slate on the road against the Winthrop Eagles on Saturday, August 12, at Rock Hill, S.C. The final two exhibition matches will be at Eagle Field, first against the Stetson Hatters on Wednesday, Aug. 16, before the Eagles take on Clayton State on Saturday, Aug. 19 to end the preseason.

Character Education at Summer Camp: Local center inspires Statesboro youth to succeed
Roosevelt’s Character Development Center is a program that builds character and self-esteem within the local youth of Statesboro. The center is currently holding its Summer Camp which seeks to impart the seeds of character education to its students. The center's ultimate goal is to build children into strong leaders, with strong values and ethics, to be dynamic members of society.
