Tod Marsh, Food Lion Statesboro manager, and his team have well stocked their store located at 325 Northside Drive East with hurricane supplies including water and staples like bread and milk.
Food Lion partners annually with Bulloch County VOAD food provisioning partner Feed the Boro. Marsh serves on the board of Feed the Boro and Bulloch County VOAD which helps give him a unique insight on local food needs in times of severe weather.
Food Lion will be open tuntil 11 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and will re-open at 7 AM on Wednesday morning. They plan to continue operating normal business hours which is 7 AM to 11 PM daily at this time.
The Statesboro Food Lion has a store-wide emergency generator, which can allow the store to operate in the case there is a power outage.
Marsh said they have trucks on the way to keep the store stocked for their customers' needs through Idalia.
