DPH announces widespread flu activity in Georgia

Flu symptoms and their intensity can vary from person to person, and can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue. Some people are at higher risk of developing serious flu-related complications if they get sick. This includes people 65+, of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, and children younger than five years old, but especially those younger than two years old.

Statesboro-Bulloch Remembrance Coalition to host historical marker ceremony Thursday

The evening of prayer, song, and story brings people together to dedicate the new historic marker outside City Hall. One side of the marker memorializes nine men who were lynched in Bulloch County; the other side addresses the legacies of racial terror that remain in Georgia and nationwide. The event will feature local musicians, poets, community members, church leaders, and advocates who are committed to moving the community toward healing and a more just future.

Gov. Kemp announces further incentivization for high-demand career pathways

The 2025 CCRPI calculation will provide additional credit for students completing a Career Pathway aligned to a high-demand industry, as defined by the Georgia Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with business and industry partners and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). This will increase a school’s CCRPI Readiness score based on the number of students in high-demand pathways.
