School supplies will be collected from July 1st through July 21st.  Donated school supplies can be placed in the designated boxes at the following locations: Morris Bank, Core Credit Union, Synovous Bank, Queensborough National Bank, Renasant Bank, Citizens Bank, Bulloch First, and Colony Bank. Financial donations are also accepted.

The opening reception for the Statesboro Regional Art Association's juried exhibition will be held from 5:30-7:30pm in the main gallery at 33 E. Main St., and refreshments will be served. The event is free to the public.

Grice Connect's Senior Reporter Michele LeBlanc headed out to see what all the talk around town about the CrossRoads Community Church Young at Heart luncheon is about. WELL WELL WELL...Michele discovered delicious fried chicken and wonderful, welcoming seniors. She found one more reason for Seniors to get out and get active!

A man has been shot after a dispute on Lanier Drive in Statesboro on Sunday evening. SPD Chief Mike Broadhead is asking for citizens with information on the shooting or that may be helpful to the investigation to contact the department.

The Statesboro Jaycees hosted a successful Miss Statesboro Jaycees pageant on June 10th. The pageant winners were able to donate $690 each to a charity of their choice.

The lane closures are necessary for widening activities for I-16 and bridge work at the I-16/I-516 Interchange.

The team will be playing its final game of the summer on the road on Aug. 6 against division leader Southern Soccer Academy. 

The next Marvelous Moms event is on Tuesday, July 11th from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Mill Creek Park. Join the fun to meet new friends! In addition to playing on the playground, there will be bubbles and chalk for kids to enjoy, as well as snacks to satisfy the appetite the little ones are sure to work up. 

The series, which kicked off July 3, is part of National Geographic’s SharkFest, which will run all month on National Geographic TV, Disney+ and Nat Geo WILD, with new episodes each night through July 11. All episodes are currently available for streaming on Hulu.
