Statesboro Police Officer and a suspect have been shot

UPDATE 4/17/24: SPD has identified the officer and suspect and provided more detail from the shooting. Initial report: A Statesboro Police Officer has been transported to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah after a shootout in a Statesboro apartment complex. The suspect is in police custody at EGRMC being treated for a gunshot wound.

Anita Howard named Assistant Coach at Mississippi State

Howard guided Georgia Southern to its first 20-win season in two decades with a 21-10 overall record in 2022-23. The 21 wins were the most in a single-season since 2000-01. Howard also led Georgia Southern to its first postseason victory and its first berth in over three decades in the 2023 Women's Basketball Invitational.

The first Annual Savannah “Hispanic in Business” event has been announced for Savannah area Hispanic business owners and aspiring Hispanic entrepreneurs. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Eckberg Auditorium at Savannah Technical College and is free of charge.
