In a packed meeting that underscored the Brooklet community's dedication to its local traditions, the City Council successfully resolved operational issues surrounding the popular Brooklet Farmers Market. Following a temporary pause to address audit concerns and facility rental conflicts, the market is set to reopen this Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Statesboro High School is the first to have a camp like this in the Bulloch County area. In their first summer, they had 80 campers sign up.

Georgia Department of Transportation continues essential road work throughout Southeast Georgia. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue Saturday, June 22 through Friday, June 28.

A fire on Friday afternoon completely demolished a home in Mill Creek Estates near Statesboro. Emergency responders arrived at the scene at 12:10 pm to find the mobile home engulfed in flames. Thankfully, no one was living there, and no injuries were reported.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the state of Georgia has reduced the Pre-K class size from 22 to 20. While this may seem like a big change, the state has also been allowed funds to have additional classes for whoever applied for one. For Bulloch County, Bumblebee Childcare Learning Center and Smiles, Giggles and Hugs have both been awarded an additional Pre-K class.

Georgia Police K9 Foundation hosts the annual Evening for the K9s this weekend on June 21-22. Attendees will enjoy a variety of activities including food, drinks, live music, entertainment, raffles, and even a silent auction.
