Life presents us with a steady stream of challenges, and one of the most difficult things that anyone encounters is the loss of a loved one. In addition to the emotional stresses of this event are care and concern for other family members and friends, the execution of legal and financial plans, and of course, the immediate needs of funeral and interment arrangements.
At times like these, as with other challenges, readily available resources and support are critical.
For twenty-eight years, Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory has provided that support to our community and beyond. Founder Tracy Joiner began his work in the funeral industry as a teenage apprentice, where he gained a deep appreciation for working closely with families in their time of need.
In the early 1990s, he realized that there were no locally owned funeral homes in Bulloch County to meet the needs of community families. In 1996, he grounded a new venture in trustworthy care and a personalized approach to helping families honor their loved ones. Within the next three years, Mark Anderson became Tracy’s business partner and since that time, Joiner-Anderson has excelled in offering a wide range of services for families in our community.
Joiner-Anderson is now owned by Tracy Joiner, Bland Mathews Jr., and Mark Anderson.
Whether the plan for your loved one is a traditional funeral service or cremation, Joiner-Anderson offers consultation on a wide range of options to address your personal needs and preferences. The process includes a private conversation with one of their experienced professionals to determine the solution that best aligns with your values and budget.
They recognize and honor the significance of finding a peaceful final resting place for a loved one.
Traditional Funeral Services
The staff at Joiner-Anderson offers compassionate support with a wide range of options to address every aspect of your plan. They assist you with the selection of a casket, burial vault, and any other burial merchandise you may require.
Whether you choose to memorialize your loved one at their Bulloch Memorial Gardens cemetery, or another local cemetery, they will help you select a customized grave marker or monument designed with your loved one in mind.
Further assistance includes planning the memorial service itself. Both Joiner-Anderson facilities in Statesboro and Sylvania are equipped with spacious and elegantly designed reception areas for visitation prior to the service or more informal gatherings to celebrate your loved one’s life.
They provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for family, friends, and guests. Personalizing a funeral service provides a special opportunity for healing and community bonding. The staff at Joiner-Anderson specializes in providing that personalization with memory tables, family pictures and videos, and music, to name just a few.
Cremation
Cremation continues to grow in popularity in our community and across the country. It means you can honor your loved one with a visitation, reception, graveside burial or scattering ceremony. These ceremonies can be held in the chapel area at each Joiner-Anderson location.
Also available are cremation niches at their outdoor Cremation Water Garden. Families can also choose from cremation benches, trees, and memorial statues for the interment of cremated remains.
Other Services
In addition to these standard services, Joiner-Anderson provides special offerings.
Helping a family celebrate a veteran is one of their highest honors. Staff members are experienced in navigating military benefits of all kinds. Your veteran may qualify for a VA headstone, a burial flag or a Presidential Memorial Certificate. Contact Joiner-Anderson for details on these and other available benefits.
Grief Recovery is another critical service offered by Joiner-Anderson. The weeks and months following the loss of a loved one can be very challenging. Special assistance with access to resources for this type of support is available. Included topics are Information and Inspiration in Areas of Illness and Dying, Loss and Grief, Life Transition and Spirituality.
Supporting Child Grief, Therapeutic Grief Programs, and Hospice and Palliative Care are also among their support initiatives.
