Gov. Brian Kemp has announced that the state is launching an in-depth assessment of Georgia’s prison system intended to identify steps necessary to improve safety. More than 3,500 assaults between inmates occurred in state prisons between 2021 and last year, according to state prison data, while 98 inmates were killed during that time.

The Georgia Police K9 Foundation's "Evening for the K9s" event at Ogeechee Technical College celebrated its continued success in supporting K9 units across the state this weekend. Over 1,000 K9 lovers attended and helped raise over $300k. The foundation has aided over 5,000 K9s with essential resources and garnered global recognition outside of the community.
