The Brooklet City Council held its regular meeting on November 21, 2024, to discuss significant city improvements and community initiatives. A highlight of the evening was the approval of a $7.2 million bond allocation to fund critical water and sewer infrastructure projects, including the Brooklet to Statesboro Sewer Project.

This Thanksgiving, many will reflect on the blessing that Dr. Charles Houston Jr. was to so many in our state. He lost his life earlier this fall in the tragic boat ramp accident on Sapelo Island but leaves behind a legacy of Christian love and service to all mankind.

Carrying on an annual tradition, East Georgia Regional Medical Center staff and Auxiliary volunteers have packed Thanksgiving food bags, which also include a gift certificate for a meat of the family's choice, for the holiday. This year's effort is expected to impact about 400 families.
