Southeast Health District to host breastfeeding event for new mothers

In recognition of World Breastfeeding Week, the Southeast Health District is hosting a special community event designed to provide vital support and resources to new and expecting mothers. The event, titled 'Snug, Safe, and Supported,' will take place on August 12th in Statesboro.

In recognition of World Breastfeeding Week, the Southeast Health District will host "Snug, Safe, and Supported", a special community event designed to provide education, support, and resources to new and expecting mothers. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bulloch County Health Department (1 W Altman Street, Statesboro, GA 30458).

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore programs that offer services to support both maternal and infant health, including:

  • Perinatal Health Services – Help for mom and baby during and after pregnancy
  • Lactation Services – Breastfeeding education and our Breastfeeding Buddy program
  • Child Passenger Safety Services – Car seat checks, safety classes, and no-cost car seats for eligible families
