Ogeechee Technical College's Cybersecurity Club, ARPe-DIEM, recently demonstrated its skill on the national stage by competing in the Spring 2025 National Cyber League (NCL) Competition.

“The NCL competition provides students with experience in solving real-world cybersecurity challenges, said OTC Cybersecurity instructor, Terry Hand. “They get to practice identifying hackers from forensic data, penetration testing and auditing vulnerable websites, recover from ransomware attacks, and more. I’m incredibly proud of our students, many of whom placed in the top 10% nationally.”

The NCL Competition is designed to prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by offering high school and college students a safe, online platform to tackle industry-relevant challenges. With over 8,500 individual competitors participating nationwide, the competition fosters skill development and career readiness in one of today’s most critical fields.

Ogeechee Tech students performed exceptionally, with four students finishing in the top 10% nationally:

•    Richard Fountain – Top 6%
•    Andrew Mitchell – Top 7.7%
•    Devin Chizmar – Top 8.1%
•    Timmy Brown – Top 9.4%

“These results highlight the incredible talent and hard work of our students,” said Hand. “It’s not only a testament to their technical ability but also to their commitment to becoming leaders in the cybersecurity field.”
