Humane Society's 18th Annual Silent Auction is Saturday

The Humane Society of Statesboro will host its 18th annual Silent Auction this Saturday, March 25, from 6-8pm at Trinity Espiscopal Church in Statesboro. One-of-a-kind items are up for bid to benefit the furry friends of our community.

The Humane Society of Statesboro will be having their 18th annual Silent Auction this Saturday, March 25, from 6-8pm at The Trinity Espiscopal Church in Statesboro. This will be their first silent auction since 2020, when events were put on hold because of the pandemic.

The Silent Auction is the Humane Society's largest and most successful fundraising event of the year. All of the proceeds go to rescue and spay/neuter programs in our community.

Humane Society Secretary Carrie Mitchell says, "It really is helping to save animals in our community."

There will be fun, food and refreshments, and also a slideshow to show off the Humane Society's amazing and adorable rescues from the last year, and also the current adoptable pets in rescue. Items up for bid will include gift baskets, gift certificates, one of a kind items, artwork, jewelry and more. Mitchell shared that a few items up for auction include: a signed copy of a Will Moses book, a book from Maya Angelou's library that was bought at her estate sale, and a painting by a well known artist from Maryland, E. Hopkins.

Tickets will be $20 per person and can be bought ahead at ReTails Thriift Store or at the event door. If interested in volunteering for the Silent Auction, send an email to [email protected]. For more information, call 912-681-9393.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 4401 Country Club Road in Statesboro.

The Humane Society of Statesboro is a volunteer based, non profit organization that has been saving animals in the community since the 1980s. The Humane Society's mission is to end the pet overpopulation in our community through adoption, spay and neuter, and education. Their ultimate goal is to make Bulloch County a "no-kill' community. The HSSBC focuses on removing adoptable last chance pets from the animal shelter before their time runs out. These animals are placed in foster homes where they are socialized within a loving environment.

The HSSBC is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Animal Rescue Organization.
The HSSBC is not associated with and does not receive funding from the Humane Society of the United States or county or state government. We are volunteer-based and rely on the generosity of our community.
