The annual Atmosphere X RaveVival event is set to make a splash-filled return this weekend at Splash in the Boro's wave pool, bringing live music, family fun and a faith-based message to the community.
The event will be held Saturday, August 30, from 6 to 10:00pm. Admission is free and guests should enter through the wave pool gate at the back parking lot, as the rest of Splash in the Boro will be closed at this time.
Hosted by Tim Wilkerson, founder of the Statesboro-based nonprofit Zero Gravity Outreach, the event focuses on community building, entertainment and fun while also offering a unique hybrid of rave-style celebration and revival. At the end of the night, organizers will share a short faith-based message and invite guests to participate in voluntary baptisms in the wave pool, a highlight of past events that has drawn hundreds!
Guests can expect live DJs flown in from across the country, an LED video wall, food and music fit for all audiences including EDM, hip-hop, rap, rock and electronic! Families with young children won’t be left out of the fun—they can enjoy the splash pad, while beach balls, hula-hoops and other playful activities will be available for all ages.
The event is open to all ages and faiths, welcoming everyone with open arms and the promise of a fantastic night! Swimsuits, towels and possibly a chair are all that is recommended for the Saturday night fun.
"It's a very immersive experience," said Wilkinson. "Just really look to have a safe, fun and awesome time!"
Wilkinson is also preparing for the launch of the Flight Factory, a new family-friendly facility behind the old peanut warehouse on North Mulberry Street. The complex will be announced at Atmosphere X RaveVival and will feature an abundance of activities including a world-class indoor BMX and skate park, climbing walls, music venues and community programs.
