Bulloch County Animal Services (BCAS) was awarded a $5,000 grant from Best Friends Animal Society and Best Friends Network in a national challenge known as "Partner Up," marking this as the second time they've received a grant from this organization.

In April 2025, the Best Friends Network brought together the rescue and shelter community with a challenge known as the "Partner Up" challenge, an initiative designed to increase collaboration between animal shelters and rescue groups. It heavily encouraged organizations to work together to boost pet adoptions and animal transports with more than 160 groups in participation.

As a result, over 2,100 animals found their way to safety! Grant rewards were given to the groups that demonstrated significant impact through their teamwork, dedication and lifesaving efforts, among them being BCAS.

Earlier this year, BCAS received a $13,400 grant from Best Friends, with $10,000 allocated to promote pet-microchipping and the remaining balance used to cover expenses for two staff members to attend the organization’s national conference. The grant not only provided staff training and essential equipment, but also improved efforts to identify lost pets and return them to their rightful owners.

With teamwork, dedication and a love for animals, BCAS is proving that every animal deserves a happy ending—one tail at a time!
