East Georgia State College (EGSC) was full of energy this past weekend as more than 350 new and returning students moved into Bobcat Villas, the college’s on-campus residence halls, marking the official beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year.

The three-day move-in event, held Thursday through Saturday, was filled with smiles, carts stacked with belongings, and a strong sense of community as students arrived from across Georgia and beyond. Staff, student leaders, and volunteers were on hand to assist with unloading cars, answering questions, and welcoming students and their families.

“This is always one of our favorite weekends on campus,” said Johnna Eaton, EGSC Campus Director. “The excitement, the nerves, the hugs—there’s a lot of emotion wrapped into move-in. But more than anything, there’s love. You can feel it in the way families help each other unpack, how returning students greet each other like family, and how our team works together to make every student feel at home.”

The Bobcat Villas residence halls will house students throughout the academic year, providing not just a place to live, but a vibrant living-learning environment designed to support student success.

Classes began on Monday, and the EGSC campus is once again buzzing with excitement, energy, and the spirit of the Bobcat community.
