The Bulloch County Board of Education met on Monday, June 30, 2025, to continue its June 26 meeting, voting on key decisions regarding the district’s Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) budget, Code of Conduct changes, and personnel recommendations.

Superintendent Charles Wilson recommended removing the election of a pro-tem chair from the agenda, explaining that the matter had already been addressed at the prior meeting. The board unanimously approved the amendment and adopted the revised agenda.

There was no public participation, superintendent’s report, or work session during the meeting.

Old Business for Approval

Superintendent Wilson recommended approval of the FY26 Code of Conduct changes, which were previously discussed during the June 14 meeting and are expected to be published online before the new school year begins. The proposed updates include stricter consequences for student threats and expand the list of offenses that must be reported to law enforcement, including drug possession, weapons, and sexual misconduct.

The revised code also provides clearer guidelines for suspension, expulsion, and repeated offenses such as bullying. Definitions and disciplinary tiers for behaviors like vaping, fighting, and gang activity have also been updated. The board approved the changes unanimously, with minimal discussion.

Wilson also recommended approval of the FY26 budget, clarifying that most of the line item labeled “school administration” refers to principals and assistant principals, though it may also include other leadership roles as defined by state classification standards. This item was also approved unanimously.

Personnel Recommendations

After determining that there was no need for executive session, the board jumped right into personnel recommendations.

The superintendent recommended approval of both the personnel recommendations for June 26, 2025, and the FY26 contract recommendations for that same date.

Both items passed unanimously, and the meeting adjourned shortly thereafter.
