Lane Closure Advisory for the Talmadge Bridge Major Maintenance Project

Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation’s (Georgia DOT) engineering partners are expected to perform work that may require intermittent, single lane closures along the US 17/SR 404 Spur Bridge so crews can safely collect field data and perform bridge assessment surveys. Daytime closures are scheduled to occur Monday through Friday, February 5-16.

Historic Savannah Foundation to Continue 2024 Lecture Series with Kiah House Presentation by Dr. Deborah Johnson-Simon

In honor of Black History Month, Historic Savannah Foundation will host a special presentation by scholar, museum expert and anthropologist Dr. Deborah Johnson-Simon, discussing “The Legacy of Virginia Kiah and the Kiah House Museum” as part of the 2024 Historic Savannah Foundation Lecture Series. Johnson-Simon will speak on Thursday, Feb. 15 at Historic Savannah Foundation’s headquarters. Attendees are invited to attend a wine reception at 5:30pm. The discussion will start at 6pm.

Esther's Place, a nonprofit organization designed to help Statesboro's women in need, offers food, clothing, confidence, and hope to the ladies it serves. Since its inception in April of 2022, Esther's Place has served over 318 women and 171 children, provided 1,348 meals, 171 showers, 231 shopping sprees in its wardrobe, and completed 544 loads of laundry.
