Georgia DOT Holding Public Open House for Proposed US 80 Safety Improvements on Tybee Island

In order to reduce frequency and severity of crashes and improve traffic flow, GDOT proposes to reconfigure the number of travel lanes along the four-mile section of US 80/SR 26 between Lazaretto Creek and Tybrisa Street, add a center turn lane, add pedestrian hybrid beacons (PHB) or rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB) at multiple intersections, and install a cycle track. The open house is this Thursday, March 28, from 4-8pm.
