The Statesboro Food Bank is facing some empty shelves. Without donations from the public, they struggle to assist the hundreds of families that come to the food bank to feed their families every week.
Here's a list of what's most needed right now:
- Loaf bread and buns (for 500+ families a week!)
- Juice boxes
- Fruit cups
- Canned meats and fish
- Condiments
- Healthy cereals
- Oatmeal
- Jams and jellies
- Milk
- Healthy snack bars
- Saltines
- Canned soup with pop tops
The food bank's address is 506 Miller St. at Northside Dr. West. It's the large, gray metal building at the intersection; you can park on the side of the building and enter through the door there. Hours for drop off are Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, and Saturday from 8am-noon.
Volunteers are also welcome during these hours!
If you need to drop off outside of these hours, call to make an appointment, and if it's a large donation, the food bank can arrange for a pick-up.
Monetary donations can be made online at statesborofoodbank.org or via text by texting StopHunger to 53555, then following the prompts. You can also mail a check to P.O. Box 543, Statesboro, GA 30459.
