Erin Shen of Statesboro High School and her AP Environmental Science teacher, Richard McCombs, have been named Bulloch County’s 2025 STAR Student and STAR Teacher. Shen, who plans to attend Stanford University to study international law and sustainability, selected McCombs for his inspiring teaching and mentorship, and together, they will represent Bulloch County at the Region 8 STAR Recognition in March.
