Azul Tex-Mex, one of Statesboro's favorite restaurants, is preparing to open a second location after just two years of success, bringing it's popular menu, new appetizers, and a convenient drive-thru to welcome even more hungry customers.
Co-owner Lorena Cisneros made the decision to expand with her business partner after seeing the growing popularity, love, and gratitude from the community, explaining that she hopes to continue expanding even further into Savannah in due time.
The new location, located at the old Moe's restaurant on Brannen St., will feature mostly indoor seating with a small patio, a big difference when compared to the first location which features a large patio and mostly outdoor seating. The goal of the new location is to allow the restaurant to accommodate more guests comfortably.
A drive-thru will also be implemented, making pick-up easier, especially on those rainy days.

The menu will include all of the dishes customers already know and love along with a few new offerings soon to be introduced.
With construction already underway, the owners are proud to announce that they expect the new restaurant to be opened by the end of September. A full bar will be completed shortly after the grand opening.

Azul Tex-Mex also recently launched a food truck in March 2025, allowing the restaurant to cater to events, birthday parties and student housing. The food truck offers several payment options, including prepayment, payment at the end of the event, or pay-as-you-go for guests as they walk up.
Bookings can be made through their website, which uses an automated messenger system that sends the request directly to the owners once completed.

Despite the expansion, the owners want to reassure guests that the original restaurant will remain open, making small improvements to areas like the patio, bar, and parking area.
"God wanted this for us and it's happening," said Cisneros. "I have no words to express how grateful we are."
